MAC Mode GmbH & Co. KGaQ was founded in 1973 by Max Gansbühler in Wald/Rossbach, Bavaria in Germany. The company specialises in the production of fashionable and functional Mac Jeans for men and women. The entire company headquarters was built from natural materials, a sign that the company is in harmony with nature. The building is surrounded by gardens, flowering meadows and waterways. With about 420 employees, 90 % of whom are women, MAC is one of the most important employers in the Regensburg/Cham region.
Focus on sustainability and quality: MAC Jeans
Each year, MAC develops six Mac jeans collections for women and six for men. The focus is on high-quality jeans for women. The company's goal is to produce Mac jeans that are desirable and affordable. The sustainable production mainly takes place close to home and only partly in other European countries. Around 3,400 people are employed in the respective production facilities to manufacture Mac jeans. At MAC, environmental protection and the sensible use of resources are at the top of the agenda. Therefore, the company supports many organisations and initiatives to promote sustainability. MAC has set itself the task of designing jeans for women that are not only fashionable and perfectly cut, but also respectful of both people and nature throughout the entire manufacturing process, right up to delivery. This involves the sensible use of materials as well as a reduction in water consumption, energy and chemicals.
Passion and trends
According to the MAC management, Mac jeans have a permanent place in the wardrobes of men and women. There is pure passion in every single pair of Mac jeans. When it comes to jeans for women, MAC not only offers true classics, but also models that adapt the latest trends in the world. For more than 40 years, fair working conditions for the employees and an attractive price-performance ratio for the customers have characterised the Bavarian company. In 2020, MAC was once again named the top brand in the women's jeans segment by the industry magazine Textil Wirtschaft" and even won the overall award. MAC even took first place in the "Commitment to Sustainability" category. In the men's jeans category, MAC is in the top 5 in the industry. By installing a photovoltaic system, MAC will become completely carbon neutral in 2022."
