Since its foundation in 1955, HILTL has stood for German craftsmanship and quality. Fritz and Hedwig Hiltl founded the trouser manufactory back then to produce not the most, but the best trousers. This philosophy still characterises the brand today and is deeply rooted in the company's DNA. HILTL has always specialised in the production of trousers, with a focus on quality, regionality and craftsmanship.
HILTL's path has been characterised by constant growth and innovation. The company opened a new factory building as early as 1968, and international growth began in 1980. Under the leadership of Hedwig Hiltl, who took over as Managing Director in 1994, the brand was further consolidated and expanded. In 2016, Nord Holding acquired HILTL, which opened up new investment opportunities. The company was renamed HILTL Hosen-Manufaktur GmbH in 2020, and two years later a new company headquarters and high-tech factory was opened in Sulzbach-Rosenberg.
HILTL stands for the best trousers, defined by five "B's": Best Quality, Best Workmanship, Best Fit, Best Comfort and Best Origin. These attributes make every pair of HILTL trousers unique. HILTL uses only the highest quality materials such as wool, cotton, linen and corduroy, mainly from Europe. The fabrics are sourced from renowned weaving mills such as Vitale Barberis Canonico, Tessuti di Sondrio and Candiani.
Production at HILTL combines traditional tailoring with state-of-the-art technology. Trousers are produced sustainably and locally in the new manufactory in Sulzbach-Rosenberg. Series production in tailoring quality enables particularly high-quality manufacturing, in which automated processes are combined with handmade sartorial techniques. This ensures a premium product with an excellent price-performance ratio. Sustainability and a sense of responsibility are core values at HILTL. Production takes place under fair working conditions with short transport routes, ensuring natural sustainability. HILTL uses recycled and innovative materials and adheres to high quality and environmental standards. 95% of the raw materials and production come from Europe, which minimises the environmental impact and strengthens the regional economy.
HILTL trousers are not just a piece of clothing, but an expression of lifestyle and passion for the best. Every detail, from the urea or walnut buttons to the fine-toothed metal zips, is made with the utmost care and precision. This dedication to perfection makes HILTL trousers an unmistakable product that offers maximum comfort and durability.
With an international network in over 30 countries, HILTL is ideally equipped for the future and always remains true to its roots: trousers of the highest quality "Made in Germany".
