Gant is an original American lifestyle brand, which encompasses the sophistication of European fashion. It offers premium clothing accessories and home furnishings for women, men, and children. This brand has stayed true to its American East Coast heritage and can trace its origins to the 1940s. A man named Bernard Gantmacher, who had arrived from Ukraine in 1914 and settled in New York, founded the company. At first, his company used to make shirts for other brands. However, when his children came back from university, they convinced him to begin making shirts under his own brand. When their father died in 1955, the two children took over running of the company. Since then, GANT has grown to become a global brand.
It All Started with a Shirt
GANT began as a shirt maker. Since then, they have come up with innovative and stylish designs, which have won them a global following. The brand has been quite innovative over the years. For instance, they came up with the signature box pleat that gives users increased motion and the renowned lock loop, which was a favorite of athlete-students at Yale. It helped to popularize the GANT shirts all over the East Coast, especially on campuses. Today, GANT makes everything from sports appear to coast, sweaters, and much more. However, it has never compromised on character, quality, or perfect shirting.
How GANT is divided
Under GANT, there are three divisions: GANT, GANT Rugger, and GANT Diamond G. These three divisions are designed to ensure that the desires and needs of customers are all met. Besides apparel, GANT offers footwear, Branded watches, eyewear, and home furnishings on its customers. The high quality of craftsmanship that goes into these products can be seen in the eyewear collection produced by GANT. This brand offers both sunglasses and optical glasses to its customers. Since 2013, the GANT brand has been part of the Marcolin brand portfolio.
